BRUCE GALLARDO, DVM

Director of Medicine

Dr. Gallardo was born in Caracas, Venezuela and was raised in Staten Island, New York. He completed his BA in Biology at Hunter College in midtown Manhattan and received his DVM from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his clinical year of studies at the University of Georgia where he was able to further develop his special interest in exotic pets. Dr. Gallardo was one of the founding members of the only herpetological society in NYC and to this day is active in multiple exotic animal organizations. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA).

Dr. Bruce now calls Ohio his home and lives with his wife Tara and their sons Saverio and Lorenzo. They have a zoo of animals including 5 dogs, 2 cats, a tortoise, a snake, 2 bearded dragons, two horses, and several fish. When he isn’t spending time with his family or working, Dr. G enjoys music. He plays several instruments and is in a cover band with Tara. He also loves baseball, building Legos, and traveling. We love Dr. G and his enormous sense of humor!

TARA GALLARDO, CVPM

Hospital Administrator

Tara was born and raised in Cincinnati. Her background is in sales management and has worked in several of Americas largest cities managing retail chain stores. Her childhood dream was to own an animal hospital, and she made her dreams a reality! Tara is one of the most passionate people you may ever meet when it comes to animal healthcare and welfare. Tara earned her CVPM (Certified Veterinary Practice Manager) certification in August of 2021. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA). Tara is also a licensed real estate agent and REALTOR® and enjoys helping clients find and sell both residential real estate and investment properties. When she isn’t helping pets and their people, Tara enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. She is an equine enthusiast and in her spare time she also enjoys riding and spending time with horses, volunteering with rescue, gardening, exercising, reading, and swimming. Tara is our team and client’s biggest cheerleader and we love the balance of fun and organization she brings to the practice!

HEATHER RIEDE

Office Manager

Heather joined the GFAH family in November 2020 and her favorite part of being here is the puppy snuggles she gets on a daily basis! Heather came to us from the human healthcare industry where she worked as a State Tested Nursing Assistant, having graduated from Live Oaks.
Heather was born and raised here in Milford, and currently resides in the city with her husband and their two children under the age of 6. Heather spends her spare time attending Ninja or swim classes, hiking, or cooking. She has two dogs and two cats, and she and her family enjoy traveling together. Heather is the glue that holds us all together and she always goes above and beyond to support our clients and our team!

JACK ARWINE

Operations Manager

Jack may be the person you see the least at GFAH- but he is the reason it is operating! Jack joined our GFAH family in January 2017. He handles our "behind the scenes" tasks including managing inventory, ordering supplies, banking, and much more! Jack has been a successful entrepreneur for over 20 years in the construction industry. He decided to switch fields to utilize his company management skills in an indoor setting and wanted to be a part of a team improving the life of pets. Jack is also Tara's dad! He has one dog and enjoys the outdoors as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren (grandogs/grancats included!). We are also convinced he likes popcorn more than any other person in the world!

BEKAH ROOKS

Veterinary Technician

Bekah has been with GFAH since February 2020 and comes to us as a graduate from the Live Oaks Veterinary Assisting program. Her favorite part of working here has been getting to know each pet’s individual personality. The best part of her day is when pets are as excited to see her as she is to see them!
Bekah spent 5 years working with horses before deciding to broaden her career horizons into the small animal and exotic veterinary field. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband and their animal family, consisting of two dogs, a cat, a bearded dragon, and a guinea pig. Bekah is the most uplifting person you’ll ever meet, and she makes us better people every day by finding the positive aspects of even the toughest situations!

LAUREN HOYLE

Veterinary Technician

Lauren has worked with GFAH since 2022. Her favorite part of being part of our team is getting to learn everything she can about exotics, and seeing all of the rescue animals come through. Outside of work Lauren loves playing video games, music, and hanging out with ehr own furry family members.

ALLISHA SETTY

Client Care Specialist

Allisha became a part of the GFAH family in October of 2021. She says that her favorite thing about GFAH is the community that has been built between the staff and our clients and patients. She says that we all care so deeply about each other and our patients that it is such a great feeling to love coming into work, because you love everyone you work with. When she isn’t working Allisha enjoys volleyball, Taylor Swift, reading, Harry Potter, and volunteering for Kamp Dovetail. Allisha is so understanding and empathetic, making her so easy to talk to. Just one of the many reasons we (and our clients) love her!

TAYLOR HOBBS

Veterinary Technician

Taylor loves seeing all of the rescue pets come in and then find their forever homes. She loves working with Louie's Legacy and finds it so rewarding to watch them grow. Outside of work she loves gardening, and is especially fond of her Monsterra plant. She also loves hiking, and being outdoors. She has been a part of the GFAH team since 2024.

CALEB WAGNER

Kennel Technician

Caleb joined the GFAH family in August of 2022. His favorite part about being with us is all the support that he gets from his team members. He truly enjoys caring for animals and loves getting to work with exotic species as well as cats, dogs, and small mammals. In his free time, Caleb enjoys working out, tabletop card games, and spending time with his family. Caleb brings so much joy to our hospital! He is hilarious and we love his jokes, impressions, songs, and sound effects!

LEEANN STANNIS

Veterinary Assistant

Leeann is our newest addition to the team, joining us in 2025. She has enjoyed learning more about the veterinary field, and falls in love with all of the kitties that walk through the door,
